Dear Reader,

We've had a busy month here at the PaL office matching up lots of new learning partnerships.

Purim is fast approaching so we are sure you will enjoy discussing the Purim story as well as the significance of the special Mitzvos (commandments) practiced on the day of Purim. Why not take a look at some of the new book releases in preparation for Purim?
Purim is a special time to share with others. For any tips on sending mishloach manos (Purim Food baskets) to your PaL tutor or partner, please don't hesitate to contact us by calling the office on 0800 055 3276 or emailing info@phoneandlearn.org.
Wishing you an enjoyable, meaningful and above all a happy Purim!

Warm regards

Rivka Graham

Questions from the PaL Mailbag...
Q: Why do we dress up on Purim?
A: Purim is a festival centred around concealment and underlying themes.  God's name does not appear in the megilla and to find the divine intervention in the story, one must look beneath the surface of the narrative.  Indeed, an important theme of the Purim celebration is to piece together the 'random' events that comprise the story to detect God's guiding hand.   To continue the theme of veiled identities, it became common for people to wear masks or fancy-dress on Purim.
