The summer holidays are finally here and with PaL's flexibility, learning sessions can continue.  No matter where you find yourself in the world, the transition from learning at home to learning abroad requires nothing more than getting to grips with the time difference!  
 
You can find out about events of interest in our Round Up below.  Or you could simply decide to pick up a new Jewish book to study - take a look at the new releases we've highlighted.

Q: We are going on a cruise in the Mediterranean for our summer holiday, what do we need to be aware of regarding observing Shabbos during the cruise?  
 
A: I hope you enjoy your cruise.  Until the advent of air-travel, people were commonly aboard a ship for extended periods and so many Shabbos issues have been discussed extensively in early sources.  It is permitted to be aboard a ship over Shabbos although one should not disembark on Shabbos should the ship reach port.   It is permitted to carry anywhere on the ship.  Just as with any hotel or similar environment, an issue with electrically-activated doors may arise.  These should ideally be discussed with a Rabbi ahead of the cruise.
