Dear Reader,
Apple and honey - PaL
September is set to be a very busy month, what with Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in just a few days time, and Succos
taking us right up until the beginning of October!
Nevertheless, I do hope you'll find the time to attend our event with Rabbi Paysach Krohn on September 5, which is sure to be enjoyable and inspiring. And the new literary releases highlighted in this edition of P@L are well worth a look at too.
Wishing you a Kesiva V'chasima Tovah

Questions from the PaL Mailbag...
Q: I know that before Yom Kippur one is obligated to ask for forgiveness from anyone one may have hurt, offended or otherwise wronged. What do I do in a situation where I believe someone is upset with me, but after much soul searching I know that I have not done anything to cause offence, but rather the slight is very much in their imagination for some reason?
A: I think that it is important to distinguish between apologising for doing something that is wrong and for something that may not be recognisable as wrong but has nonetheless upset someone. In this latter situation, it is still reasonable to apologise for having offended the other party.  As such, at this time of the year, if the person is still upset, one should apologise for hurting their feelings and even resolve to try not to repeat the upset.
